In 1990, I drove west — and then I took to the sky.
With a map in hand, I followed the road,
until the moment came to take the controls myself.
What I saw, between earth and sky,
was a record of a time and its culture.
1990年、私は西へ走り、そして空を飛んだ。
地図を片手に車を走らせ、やがて自ら操縦桿を握った。

Based on the American West Coast,
I drove with a map in hand,
and in time came to see the same land from above.
Reworking film from those days — Velvia —
alongside memory,
I continue to trace the contours of freedom.
More than thirty years on,
the work goes on,
between image and words.
アメリカ西海岸を拠点に地図を片手に走り、やがて同じ大地を空から見下ろした。
当時のフィルム（Velvia）と記憶を再構成しながら「自由の輪郭」を探している。
30年以上経った今も、視覚と言葉のあいだで制作は続く。
